On Saturday, June 1, a graduation ceremony took place for children graduating from the preparatory program of the Bethany Orthodox School for Girls.
The 40 graduates entered the auditorium in their caps and gowns to the applause of their parents and friends. Among the guests were Archimandrite Roman (Krassovsky), head of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission in Jerusalem, and Abbess Elisabeth (Smelic).
After listening to the anthems of Palestine and Russia, the children showed their talents in songs and dances. They also gave speeches of gratitude to the teachers and parents.
At the end of the program, the school director, Mother Maria (Wall), gave all graduates their diploma as a sign of their efforts in beginning their educational endeavors.
After the summer holidays, the children will begin their first-grade studies.
