Akathist Chanted by the Sisters of the Convents of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission of ROCOR before the Shroud of the Theotokos

With the blessing of the caretaker of the Tomb of the Theotokos in the Garden of Gethsemane, Metropolitan Joachim of Helenopolis, the Chief of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, Archimandrite Roman (Krassovsky), read the akathist to the Dormition of the Most Holy Theotokos at the very tomb of the Mother of God. Archimandrite Innokenty (Sereda), Priest Alexander Popov from Germany, and Deacon Amphilochius (Mazur) co-served with the Head of the Mission.

The abbess of the Monastery of the Mount of Olives – Matushka Barbara (Novikova), Abbess Elisabeth (Smelic), head of the monastery of St. Mary Magdalene and the nun Maria (Wall) – the elder sister of the convent of the Resurrection of Christ in Bethany along with the sisters of all the cloisters sang the akathist.
In gratitude to Vl. Joachim, for the spiritual honor given to the members of the Mission, “Many Years” was proclaimed for him.
