Bishop Irenaeus of London Concelebrated Divine Liturgy at theTomb of the Mother of God
On Wednesday, August 3, pilgrims from the Western European and German dioceses attended the Divine Liturgy at the tomb of the Virgin Mary in the Garden of Gethsemane. Bishop Irenaeus of London concelebrated at the service led by the Greek Metropolitan Joachim of Helenopolis. The cleric of the monastery, Archimandrite Meletius, Archimandrite Roman (Krassovsky), Chief of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission in Jerusalem, concelebrated together with the pilgrims Fr. Peter Sturm, Rev. Sergiy Voinkov and deacon. Andrei Borisas. Following liturgy, the pilgrims went to the Garden of Gethsemane and then to the monastery of St. Mary Magdalene, where they were met the Abbess of the monastery, Mother Elisabeth (Smelic).
