Graduation Ceremony at the Bethany Orthodox School for Girls

On Saturday, May 25, the graduation exercises took place at the Orthodox School for Girls in Bethany. This year there were 10 graduates.

The graduation was attended by the Representative of the Russian Federation in Palestine G.L. Buachidze, the Head of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission in Jerusalem, Archimandrite Roman (Krassovsky), the Abbess of the Gethsemane Monastery, Mother Elisabeth (Smelic), the Mayor of the city of Al-Azaria (Bethany) Khalil Abu Rish, parents and well-wishers of those graduating.

The graduates addressed the audience in three languages: Arabic, English and Russian.

Afterwords the school principal, nun Maria (Wall), gave her final exhortation to the students, for some of them, after 14-years at the school.

The students then received their diplomas, marking the crown of their twelve years of study at Bethany Orthodox School.
