Transfiguration at the Holy Ascension Convent

The chief of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission in Jerusalem, Archimandrite Roman (Krassovsky), led the service at the Holy Ascension Monastery on the feast day of the Transfiguration of the Lord. At the end of the Divine Liturgy, according to custom, grapes and fruits were blessed.
According to tradition, after breakfast, the sisters of the monastery, along with the sisters of the monastery of St. Mary Magdalene boarded buses and went on a pilgrimage to Mount Tabor.
With the blessing of His Beatitude Patriarch Theophilus ӀӀӀ of Jerusalem, Fr. Roman celebrated Great Vespers in the Church of the Transfiguration with the reading of the gospel narrative of the Transfiguration of the Lord.

Afterwards, the sisters drove to the monastery of The Holy Apostles in Capernaum where they were met by the caretaker of the monastery, monk Ierinarch. The sisters had a picnic dinner and rested in the cozy garden of the monastery.
