At the invitation of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the State of Israel A.D. Viktorov, the Head of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission in Jerusalem as part of the Russian Church Abroad, Archimandrite Roman (Krassovsky), attended the state reception on the occasion of “Russia Day”. The reception took place in the Sergievsky courtyard in Jerusalem. Father Roman was escorted by Abbess Elisaveta from the Gethsemane Monastery with hук cell attendant sr. Daria and nun Maria (Wall) from the Bethany school.
His Beatitude the Patriarch of the Holy City of Jerusalem and All Palestine, Theophilus ӀӀӀ with a retinue of bishops and clergy, members of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission of the Moscow Patriarchate were also present.
The event was attended by the Minister of Agriculture of Israel A. Dichter as the main guest of honor. Other distinguished guests, Ambassadors and diplomats of more than twenty states, and UN staff also arrived at the reception.
