The hierarch of the Orthodox Church in America, Archbishop Daniel (Broom) of Chicago and the Midwest officiated the Divine Liturgy on Sunday, May 21 in the Church of St. Mary Magdalene in the Garden of Gethsemane. Archimandrite Roman (Krassovsky), Head of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission in Jerusalem, co-served with Vl. Daniel along with the clergy of the monastery and with pilgrims in holy orders. The Pilgrims from America prayed and took communion together with the sisters of the monastery.
After the service, a meal was offered. Then Abbess Elisabeth (Scmelic) invited the American guests for coffee, where brotherly/sisterly fellowship continued.
