«Christmas in the Cistern» – such an unusual name was given to the children’s Christmas pagent in the convent of St. Mary Magdalene.
Despite the quarantine and all kinds of restrictions, the young parishioners of the ROCOR and their parents, observing all the precautionary rules, had the opportunity to prepare for the holiday of the Nativity of Christ.
Thanks to the concern of the Abbess of the convent, the old cistern was cleared for the holiday celebration to take place. Children with their parents prepared a Christmas performance. The kids sang, danced, and the older children took over the script development and rehearsals with the children.
The result was a merry holiday that delighted the clergy of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission of the ROCOR, the abbess and the sisters of the monastery. And the children not only rejoiced at the gifts, but learned to give joy to others. They prepared postcards and congratulations, diligently painted Christmas gingerbread, which they presented to the sisters of the convent that day.
