On the day of the commemoration of the holy apostles Peter and Paul, the head of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission in Jerusalem, Archimandrite Roman (Krassovsky), took part in the patriarchal service in Capernaum, the native city of the holy apostol Peter. His Beatitude Patriarch of the Holy City of Jerusalem and All Palestine Theophilus ӀӀӀ officiated the Divine Liturgy at the Monastery of the Holy Apostles. His Beatitude was co-served by Metropolitan Cyriacus of Nazareth, Archbishop Aristarchus of Constantine, and the local Arab and Russian clergy. Archbishop Aristobulus of Madaba led the general singing of all Arabic and Russian-speaking parishioners. They sang in Greek, Arabic and Russian. Fr. Roman read the Holy Gospel in Church Slavonic.
After the divine service, the abbot of the monastery, Fr. Irinarkh (Mitas), with his helpers, treated the clergy and numerous pilgrims to a sumptuous festive dinner.
