For the feast of Pentecost, the sisters of the monastery decorated the Holy Ascension Church with greenery and flowers. Entering the church, one felt that it truly was “the namesday of the earth” (an old Russian saying). The services of this feast were celebrated with this joyful feeling.

The clergy of the monastery co-served with the Head of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission – Archimandrite Roman (Krassovsky). After the Divine Liturgy, vespers were served during which Fr. Roman, Archimandrite Innokenty (Sereda) and hegumen Jonah (Galishnikov) read the prayers of repentance on their knees compiled by St. Basil the Great. The prayers also commemorate all the departed Orthodox Christians and the repose of their souls.
