On Great Wednesday, March 30/April 12, the head of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission, Archimandrite Roman (Krassovsky), together with Hieromonk Feodor (Kirike) and Hierodeacon Amphilochius (Mazur), served the last Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts in the Church of the Convent of St. Mary Magdalene. During the Hours the complete reading of the Gospels was completed (which was read from the beginning of the 6th week of Lent) and then the “Rite of Forgiveness” took place where the brothers and sisters asked for forgiveness for all the sins they had committed “during the whole of Great Lent”.

During the Liturgy, the clergy sang the trio “Let me prayer be before Thee.” After the prayer of the ambo, the Chief of the Mission for the last time, recited the prayer of St. Ephraim the Syrian – “Lord and Master of my life” with prostrations. According to the Typicon, prostrations are prohibited until Pentecost (except before the Shroud of Christ).
