On bright Wednesday, a bishop of the Greek Patriarchate, the Metropolitan of Helenopolis Joachim (Kontovas), the newly appointed overseer of the Tomb of the Mother of God in the Garden of Gethsemane, came to the monastery of St. Mary Magdalene for a paschal visit.
The head of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission, Archimandrite Roman (Krassovsky) along with the abbess of the convent, mother Elisabeth (Smelic), met Vladyka Joachim with accompanying clergymen of the holy tomb, which is located next to the convent.
Vl. Joachim venerated the holy alter of the temple and the relics of the holy martyrs Grand Duchess Elisabeth and nun Barbara.
Then the guests were invited to an festal cup of tea in the chambers of the abbess where Vl. Joachim spoke about the plans and needs of the holy temple of the Mother of God.
