The sisters of the three convents of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission – Holy Ascension, St. Mary Magdalene and the sisterhood of the Ressurection of Christ in Bethany embarked on a trip to Mount Tabor following Divine Liturgy on the day of our Lord’s Transfiguration.
The pilgrims were welcomed by the abbot of the Greek convent – archimandrite Hilarion. The sisters of the convent of the Transfiguration fed the pilgrims and afterwards with the blessing of Fr. Hilarion, the Head of the REM, archimandrite Roman (Krassovsky) served Great Vespers in the church. The sisters of all three convents sang along along with several sisters from the Gorny Convent of the Moscow Mission.
After receiving the blessing of Tabor, the sisters continued their trip to the Greek Monastery of the Holy Apostles in Capernaum. The ever-smiling Fr. Irinarchos greeted the sisters after a short service at the church.
The sisters relaxed in the gardens of the monastery and on the shore of the Sea of Galilee before returning home in the evening fully refreshed from their outing.
