The Russian Ecclesiastical Mission in Jerusalem (REM) of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia (ROCOR) would like to release the following statement:
“The Synod of Bishops of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia welcomes the decision of the Jerusalem District Court since the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia is the controlling authority of St. Alexander Nevsky Compound and cannot be bypassed in the registration process.
It follows that objectively the only legally registered Orthodox Palestine Society in Israel (#513965889) is the one legally entitled to register its properties in its name in Israel and is controlled as a matter of fact by the Synod of Bishops of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia.”
