The brothers and sisters of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission in Jerusalem took part in the procession with the “Winding Sheet” of the Theotokos. On the last day of the feast the icon of the Most-Holy Virgin is returned from the tomb of the Theotokos to the Gethsemene Compound near the Holy Sepulchre where it stays during the year.
His Eminence, Archbishop Dorotheos of Avilon carried the icon through the streets of Jerusalem. In contrast to when the icon was brought to the tomb in the days before the feast, there was much jubilation and celebration. His Beatitude, Patriarch Theophilos III met the procession outside the Greek Patriarchate where he blessed the procession and those taking part.
