On the last day of the visit of the German pilgrimage group on May 26, Metropolitan Mark of Berlin and Germany and his vicar – Bishop Job of Stuttgart served in the Church of the Tomb of the Mother of God in the Garden of Gethsemane. The service was headed by the bishop of the Greek Patriarchate, Metropolitan Joachim of Elenopolis. Pilgrims Archpriest Peter Sturm, Archpriest Dimitry Isaev and Deacon Alexy Tissen with of the REM Hierodeacon Amphilochius (Mazur) co-served with the Bishops.
The annual pilgrimage led by Metropolitan Mark is centered around the Divine Liturgy. Almost every day, believers have the opportunity to attend Services and approach the Holy Mysteries of Christ. Then, with the Grace of the Holy Spirit, the pilgrims reverently visit the holy places. This year, Vladyka Mark and Vladyka Job celebrated or co-served in the following places: in the Church of the Resurrection of Christ (the Holy Sepulcher), in Bethlehem, in Nazareth, in the REM monasteries – Olivet, Gethsemane, in the Lavra of St. Hariton, in the Bethany community of the Resurrection of Christ and at the Tomb of the Mother of God.
Nun Susanna (Sedova) led the group through the holy places and explained the historical and spiritual features of each place.
After dinner, the pilgrims said goodbye to the Holy Land and flew home tired but inspired by the spiritual experiences of the last days.
