During the days of the afterfeast of the Nativity of Christ, Abbess Varvara (Novikova) and her sisters of the Holy Ascension Convent invited the nuns of the neighboring monasteries to a festive dinner and general caroling.
The abbess of the Monastery of St. Mary Magdalene, Mother Elisabeth (Smelic), the abbess of the Gorny Monastery, Abbess Ekaterina (Chernysheva), and nun Maria (Wall) from the Bethany Community of the Resurrection of Christ with the sisters of the monasteries arrived.
After a hearty festive meal, the sisters from each monastery sang Christmas carols. Between the carols, Fr. Monk Polycarp, the benefactor of the Mount of Olives Monastery, and others read poems or holiday stories. At the end, everyone sang the last carols in a common sisterly choir.
After the end, the sisters chatted amongst each other and afterwards returned home with true Christmas joy.
