During the bright days of the feast of Theophany, Metropolitan Mark of Berlin and Germany arrived for a pastoral visit to the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission.
After the Divine Liturgy in the Monastery of Olives on January 9/22, Vladyka Mark with the sisters of both monasteries of St. Mary Magdalene and the Holy Ascension Convents departed on two buses to the Jordan River, where the Great Blessing of Water was performed. After the blessing everyone immersed themselves in the "streams of the Jordan", receiving the grace of the Holy Spirit during the days of the holy feast.
